We would like to share with you some recent updates to official fees in Portugal and Serbia concerning the services offered by iPify and inform you of a temporary disruption affecting patent annuity payments in Malaysia.
Portugal
EP Validations – IP Maintenance
The Portuguese Industrial Property Institute has introduced changes effective as of 2026-07-01.
The official fees for a European patent validation will increase from EUR 62.83 to EUR 64.21 in case of e-filing and from EUR 125.66 to EUR 128.42 in case of paper filing.
The changes related to patent annuities are as follows:

Serbia
EP Validations – IP Maintenance
The Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia has introduced changes, effective as of 2026-07-01.
The official fees for a European patent validation will increase from RSD 9,860 to RSD 10,190. Issuance of Letters Patent in e-form will also increase from RSD 7,990 to RSD 8,250.

Malaysia
IP Maintenance
The Malaysian Intellectual Property Office (MyIPO) has announced the temporary suspension of its online payment facilities as of 2026-06-11. During this period, official fees can only be paid manually at the Intellectual Property Office, which may result in delays in the processing of payments, status updates, and the issuance of official certificates and notifications.
We therefore strongly recommend providing any instructions relating to Malaysian patent renewals as early as possible.
At this stage, there is no impact on annuities that have already been instructed and for which payment has been completed. We are closely monitoring the situation together with our local agent and will keep you informed as soon as normal operations resume.
